The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multibillion-dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. Prairie Co-op invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Petroleum Manager to join our Petroleum Team. This position is located in Melville, Saskatchewan. The Assistant Petroleum Manager will coordinate day-to-day activities of our Petroleum Team and assume the full responsibility of the Petroleum Manager in his/her absence. The position plays a very instrumental role in developing sales and achieving budgeted goals while maintaining adherence to health & safety procedures, image standards, and asset protection for uninterrupted service to our members.
 
Reporting to the Petroleum Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
 
Maintain service standards by positively leading, coaching and motivating the Petroleum Team Members.
Maintain member-client and Tempo dealer satisfaction through regular, direct contact.
Ensure acceptable level of service is provided, staff attitude is appropriate and Hassle-Free Guarantee Program is followed. Follow and maintain the customer contact program as per Prairie Co-op policy and procedure 
Develop sales volume in petroleum, oil and lubricant, cardlock, and ag equipment.
Provide operational direction and support the implementation of programs and policies related to health & safety, alcohol & substance, discrimination & harassment, loss prevention, asset protection, budget development and business planning, etc. 
Support the retail’s core values by creating personal goals which align with and strengthen the Co-operative’s goals and business objectives. 
Assist the Petroleum Manager in the processes of recruitment, orientation, performance management, training & development, and engagement of all the Petroleum Team Members. 
Other duties as assigned by the Petroleum Manager.  
 
 
 
Qualifications
 
Extensive petroleum experience and managerial experience (preferably in the retail environment)
Experience in developing relationships with external and internal customers on complex issues and transactions
Experience and proven competency of providing assertive, constructive feedback to other team members and providing on-the-job training and coaching to team members 
Experience and proven competency of implementing health & safety policies and procedures and addressing safety hazards and concerns. 
Ability to control operational costs, maximize operational efficiency, and improve sales and growth margin with effective marketing skills.
